About Num Puz

Num Puz is a wooden sliding-number puzzle. Neighbouring tiles move into the single empty space until the grid reads in order. Boards run from a quick 3x3 up to a genuinely demanding 10x10, and Pipe Mode swaps numbers for a water route from faucet to drain.

Why Num Puz Feels Different From Other Snake Games

The constraint here is the single gap. Every tile you want to move has to be walked around to that one empty cell, which is what makes large boards hard rather than just long.

  • Only one empty space exists, so moving any tile means routing the gap to it.
  • Board sizes scale from 3x3 up to a 10x10 challenge.
  • Goal Pattern shows the target arrangement on classic boards.
  • Select Mode also holds Pipe Mode, Challenge Mode and Statistics.
  • Pipe Mode builds a faucet-to-drain route with Reset and an ad-gated Hint.

How To Play Num Puz?

Solve it in order — top rows first, then work down. Freestyling falls apart past 4x4.

  • Open the home screen and go to Select Mode for Classic, Pipe, Challenge or Statistics.
  • Pick a board size — 3x3 and 4x4 to learn, 10x10 for a real sitting.
  • Slide a neighbouring tile into the empty cell to move it.
  • Check Goal Pattern so you know the exact target arrangement you are building.
  • In Pipe Mode, connect faucet to drain and use Reset or the Hint when stuck.

Who Will Enjoy Num Puz?

  • Players who like classic sliding puzzles and want more than a 3x3.
  • Anyone who enjoys a long, methodical solve.
  • People who appreciate stats tracking and multiple modes.
  • Fans of 15-puzzles and pipe-connection games in one package.
  • If you have a technique for sliding puzzles, the 10x10 is the board to try it on.

Can You Finish the 10x10?

Sliding puzzles punish improvisation. On a 4x4 you can shuffle your way to a solution, but a 10x10 has to be built row by row, locking each completed line and never disturbing it again.

Pipe Mode is the lighter option in the same package — same wooden board, but you are joining a faucet to a drain instead of ordering numbers.

Pick your board size and see how far the method takes you.
